Court Operations Related to COVID-19 (General Order No. 22-02)

The United States Probation Office for the Central District of Illinois is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and is following all recommended guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health. On March 1, 2022, Chief Judge Sara Darrow issued (General Order 22-02), concerning court operations under the exigent circumstances created by COVID-19. General Order 22-02 reauthorizes the use of videoconferencing and teleconferencing pursuant to the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act through May 30, 2022. General Order 22-02 also removes the face covering requirement for persons seeking entry to any of the District’s courthouses, however, face coverings may be required by individual Judges in their courtrooms. Due to this, persons seeking entry to any of the District’s probation offices are no longer required to wear a face cover or mask while in the probation office. Probation staff in all divisions are also available by telephone.
